Samsung and Blackberry to Work Together Closely

samsung-2The Korean electronics giant and maker of the Galaxy smartphones, Samsung, has been in the news quite a bit lately. With the announcement of their new flagship phone, the Galaxy s6 to ever rising stock price, Samsung is generating a lot of interest. Now they are hinting at working even more closely with BlackBerry (BBRY: Nasdaq) to strengthen their smartphones with businesses.

Lee Epting, head of Samsung’s Enterprise Unit, in a recent interview, comes after the company quelled any rumors they were going to buy BlackBerry. “I think you’ll continue to see a rich roadmap with BlackBerry as we move forward,” he said.

Since the rumors have abetted, Samsung has been working even more closely with BlackBerry as the tech giant looks to become the leader of the enterprise world. BlackBerry is switching from making devices to focus on software and services.

WorkLife and SecuSUITE, two enterprise services from BlackBerry will be integrated into Samsung’s KNOX. WorkLife keeps sensitive corporate information safe and separate from the devices personal side and SecuSUITE will enable the device to combat eavesdropping.

This partnership makes this possible as Samsung can now market its phones to businesses as secure. Samsung recently told CeBit, that they would merge all their enterprise services, including KNOX, under one brand called Samsung Business.

Samsung is not looking to compete with BlackBerry as an enterprise service provider. They want to help the company “support themselves,” Epting said.
