Here is the timeline for the Senate healthcare vote today

The stakes are high as the Senate attempts to move forward on repealing and replacing Obamacare

Senate Republicans plan to vote today on a procedural motion to bring the House-passed healthcare bill to the floor.
The plan got a lift yesterday when it was revealed that ailing Arizona Senator John McCain would fly in for the vote. He’s battling brain cancer so his flight to Washington signals that Republican leadership believes it has the votes.
Senate leaders had hoped to have a pre-packaged set of amendments to the House bill agreed on within caucus but that’s proven to be impossible. This tactic will allow them to bring the House bill to the floor and then various amendments can be launched — things like a straight repeal or compromises.
The plan for a vote today could still fall apart. Republican Senators have their weekly lunch at 12:45 am ET (1645 GMT) and there they will try to hash out the differences. Immediately afterwards, at approximately 2:15 pm ET (1815 GMT), the vote will begin.
Note that this isn’t the final vote, it’s simply a vote to proceed to the floor. It still faces a tough test to get final approval or survive any of the amendments.
The market has soured on the US dollar today but signs of progress and unity from Republicans could turn the tide.
